The details generic tools get wrong
Cambridge grading has rules that general-purpose AI routinely breaks. School Report AI follows them.
- No fixed percentages. Cambridge sets grade thresholds for each syllabus in each exam series, so a comment never says "an A (80%)".
- IGCSE is usually graded A*–G, and some syllabuses use 9–1. A Level is A*–E, and AS Level is a–e with no A*.
- Checkpoint results have been reported on a 0–50 scale since May 2023. Comments never quote the retired 0–6 scores.
- It never states a grade you did not provide.

Every comment ends with something concrete: timed practice on a specific question type, planning extended responses, using mark schemes, or explaining a method in writing. Families can see what to do next.
Example comments
[Student] has made strong progress in English and now reads for implied meaning with accuracy. Speaking is fluent and increasingly precise. In writing, [Student] sometimes moves between ideas without clear links. Planning each extended response with one main idea per paragraph, and using a wider range of connectives, will raise the standard of written work.
[Student] is exceeding the learning objectives in science this term, planning investigations independently, identifying variables accurately and drawing conclusions supported by data. [Student] shows the Cambridge learner attribute of being innovative, suggesting improvements to methods that the whole class adopted. A next step is using scientific vocabulary with complete precision in written conclusions, in preparation for IGCSE.

- Does it work for Pearson Edexcel International GCSE too?
- Yes. Choose "IGCSE / International GCSE". The guidance covers both the Cambridge A*–G and 9–1 scales, and it uses whichever grade you give it.
- Can I use it for Cambridge Global Perspectives?
- Yes. Global Perspectives is in the subject list, and comments focus on research, analysis, evaluation, reflection and collaboration.
