For IB World School teachers
IB report comments that sound like an IB teacher wrote them
Choose PYP, MYP or DP and get a first draft that uses the right assessment language: learner profile and approaches to learning in the PYP, subject-group criteria in the MYP, and assessment readiness in the DP. You review and edit every comment before it goes on a report.

Why generic AI comments fail IB reports
Generic tools do not know which programme you teach. They give a PYP learner a grade, describe MYP work as "above average" instead of using the criteria, or promise a DP student a 7. Coordinators send those comments back.
School Report AI starts from the programme you select, and follows rules checked against IB sources.
- PYP: never gives a grade, number or letter. The PYP has no IB grading scale.
- MYP: refers to criteria by their subject-group names, such as Investigating patterns in mathematics or Processing and evaluating in sciences, and describes achievement using the MYP general grade descriptors.
- DP: focuses on internal assessment, command terms and examination technique, and never introduces a predicted grade you did not supply.
Built around how you actually write IB reports
Add a few notes on what the student did well and what comes next, pick a performance level, and generate. The comment arrives in paragraph form, at the length your school sets.
- Approaches to learning: thinking, research, communication, social and self-management skills
- The learner profile, used once and with an example, not as a list of attributes
- Units of inquiry, the exhibition, the community and personal projects, the extended essay and TOK
- Plain English that families reading in a second language can follow
Privacy first
You identify students with a code or nickname, never a full name. The name is added in your browser after the comment is written, so it is never sent to the AI.
Example comments
[Student] produces generally high-quality work in mathematics and has secure understanding of linear equations and graphs. In the investigation task, [Student] identified a pattern and tested it with further cases, showing strength in Investigating patterns. The next step is Communicating: presenting each step with correct notation and explaining why the method works. A short written justification after every solution will make this thinking visible.
[Student] showed outstanding agency throughout the exhibition. The group's inquiry into plastic waste moved from research to action: surveying families, analysing the results and presenting practical changes to the student council. [Student] showed thinking and communication skills of a very high level, and wrote an honest, insightful reflection.
Questions teachers ask
- Does it put grades in PYP comments?
- No. The PYP has no IB grading scale, so PYP comments describe learning in words only, even if your school tracks progress internally with numbers.
- Will it state MYP criterion levels or DP predicted grades?
- Only if you include them in your notes. Otherwise it describes the quality of the work so the comment stays consistent with the grade your school reports.
- Is School Report AI endorsed by the IB?
- No. School Report AI is an independent tool. It is written to use the assessment language IB teachers already use, and you review every comment.
